Finney Point Cemetery
Patricia Kelley writes:
"I have many relatives buried in this area, many are buried
in St. Cloud and Rosehill Cemetery. Was told my family were some of the
first to settle Osceola/Orange county, and one of my grandfathers founded
present day Orlando, then called Jernigan after him(Aaron Jernigan)..Lineage
includes Bass, Patrick, Tucker, Oglesby, Yates, Jernigan. Married into
the families Storey, Overstreet, Barber, Partin and many more I can't remember
without bringing up the "tree". Most came out of the Carolina's traveling
by ox cart into Georgia and stayed awhile, then traveled by waterways to
Sanford, then Mellonville and onto Orlando, St. Cloud and Kissimmee. My
grandmother attended her few years of formal education at the Shake Rag
School near Rose Hill Cemetery".
