The main resource for deaths in Liberty County is the Death Index. Information on how to request a copy of a death certificate can be found under the 'Vital Records' link. If you're unable to find what you're searching for please post a request at the Liberty County Message Board.
Because the medical facilities in Liberty County are limited, many residents die while hospitalized in neighboring counties. Two common places of death are Tallahassee (Leon County) and Blountstown (Calhoun County).
You may also want to search the Social Security Death Index (SSDI), a database of SSA registrants who have died since the 20th century. About 98% percent of the people in the SSDI died after 1962, but a few death dates go back as far as 1937. The database will provide the date of death and the zip code of where the registrant was residing at the time of death. The database can be queried either by name or social security number.
