Liberty County has every type of cemetery - from small family plots to large muncipal cemeteries. The list includes four African American cemeteries. Many of these cemeteries are located near adjoining counties, and families from all over the region use them. Families from Liberty County may also be found in the cemeteries of neighboring counties such as Calhoun, Gadsden, Franklin and Leon.
Liberty County has no large hosptial so many of its residents die in adjoining counties. Two common places of death are Tallahassee (Leon County) and Blountstown (Calhoun County).
All available transcriptions of cemeteries in Liberty County have been combined into a master index and other known information (such as spouse) has been annotated. The individual cemetery transcription may contain information not in the master index (such as epitahs).
