COOEY posted by Cathy Popp on Tuesday, April 15, 1997
COOEY CEMETARY According to E W Carswell's book, "Holmesteading, the History of Holmes County, Florida", there is a COOEY CEMETARY located somewhere in Holmes County. Mr Carswell refers to this cemetary as a private cemetary that was reported by a Veterans' Grave Registration Project undertaken by the Works Progress Administration (WPA) in 1940-1941. If anyone has directions to this cemetary, please let me know. I have relatives buried there and would like to add them to my family history of William Murdock Cooey. Thank you.
COLLINSWORTH posted by Tim Walker on Saturday, May 10, 1997
I am searching for the grave site of William COLLINSWORTH he was born abt 1803 in NC and died either in AL or in the panhandle of FL. In 1860's William and his wife Rachel TOLBERT moved to Walton County, FL. They are on the 1870 census together. After that William is in Santa Rosa County, FL with no mention of Rachel and then on the 1885 census index, neither of the names are found. I am also interested in any COLLINSWORTH info.

AMMONS, BRAXTON, BRYANT, BYRD, CAMPBELL, GODWIN, HEWETT, LOVETT, MAYO, MINGER, MORRISON, PADGETT, STANDLEY, STANLEY, SUTTON, TEAL, TERRY, THOMPSON posted by Joni Hudson on Saturday, August 23, 1997
I am researching all SUTTON (and aligned) families (descendents of Charles and Charity SUTTON and Jesse and Elizabeth SUTTON) that migrated to Holmes Co from Barbour Co, AL around 1860. The family elders had arrived in AL from SC in the 1820's-1830 where they were noted as among the "Early Settlers of Barbour Co." Many of the SUTTONs married while in AL and/or Holmes Co; some continued their migration further south into Polk, Hillsborough and surrounding counties. Aligned families include: AMMONS, BRYANT, BYRD, BRAXTON, CAMPBELL, GODWIN, HEWETT, LOVETT, MINGER, MAYO, MORRISON, PADGETT, STANLEY/STANDLEY, TEAL, TERRY, THOMPSON.
