Published in Holmes County Advertiser, Bonifay, Florida, Friday, Aug. 13, 1915 Death of Mrs. L. H. Nelson. After an illness of only a few days, Mrs. L. H. Nelson, wife of postmaster Nelson at Ponce de Leon, died last Friday afternoon at six o'clock at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Davis, just west of town. The news of her death was a shock to her many friends in Bonifay as well as Ponce de Leon and elsewhere in the county, she having taught school on various places over the county and was known and loved by all who came within the circle of her acquaintance. She had come from Ponce de Leon only a few days previous to be with her mother who was ill. Soon after her arrival she was taken seriously ill and despite the efforts of physicians and loved ones, passed away at the hour above stated. The remains of the beloved lady were laid to rest in the Bonifay cemetery Saturday afternoon, the funeral services being conducted by Rev. E. P. Smith, Pastor of the Chipley Baptist church. Many people from Ponce de Leon, Westville and other places, who knew and esteemed the deceased lady very highly, were present at the funeral, as was also a large number from Bonifay and vicinity.
