Mr Ernest R Nelson, Sr, age 65, of Chipley, passed away Tuesday, Jan 5, 1999 at his residence.  He had been a resident of Chipley for the past three and a half years coming from Trenton, New Jersey.  He was of the Catholic faith and a member of the St Joseph the Worker Catholic Church.  He was a decorated veteran of the Korea and Vietnam wars.  He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 4214 of Levitton, Pennsylvania, a member of the Marine Corps League Northwest District, Panama City Detachment 065 and the DAV and Marine Air Traffic Control Association.

	Funeral services were Jan 8 at St Joseph the Worker Catholic Church with Father John Kelly officiating.  Burial followed in the Calvary Cemetery in Sunny Hills, with Brown Funeral Home directing.

	Survivors include his wife: Susan Nelson of Chipley; son: Ernest R Nelson, Jr of Chipley; daughters: Theresa Nelson of Havelock, North Carolina, Cheryl Nelson of Havelock, North Carolina and Debra Pierson of Hubert, North Carolina; brothers: Darron Nelson of Tacoma, Washington, Clark Jenks, Emory Jenks and Henry Jenks, all of Orofino, Idaho; sisters: Betty Harris of Lewiston, Idaho, Judy Joersz and Juanita McLean, both of Orofino, Idaho; grandchildren: Taylor and Derek Nelson of Chipley, and Emily Nelson of Havelock, North Carolina.
