This monument was erected 6/15/63 during the Padgett reunion in memory of Elijah Padgett and family. This family was the first Padgett to settle in this part of the country. His first wife, Susanna Eubanks, had eight children, his second wife, Lottie Johnson, had seven children.

Today I stopped at the following cemetery and did a survey. It is on the road to Geneva, AL and is across the road from Sweet Gum Head Church of Christ and Sweet Gum Head Church of Christ Cemetery. While there a gentleman came over to talk to me. He was visiting his 80 yr. old mother who lives across the road. He is an Andrews and he was telling me that the Andrews settled into Holmes County when Florida was still a territory.
Hope this helps some of ya'll. Hope to get to Padgett Cemetery this weekend and possibly Leonia Cemetery.
