Niles, an old and highly respected citizen of Washington county, residing five miles south of town, died Thursday morning of last week of tuberculosis, of which he had been s sufferer for a long time. He was confined to his room continuously and every effort was made to prolong his days, but to no avail. Mr. Niles was about 72 years of age and has traveled extensively, having visited many of the foreign countries during his younger days and has encountered many thrilling experiences., About 20 years ago he located on the place above refered to and lived there continuously until his death. He is the father of several children, all of whom are grown. The remains were laid to rest in the city cemetery Saturday, the obsequies being attended by a large concourse of sorrowing friends and relatives.
