Again, the death angel appears in our realm, this time to summon before the judgement bar of God Mr James Hagan, one of our leading citizens and farmers. This is a reminder that all of us must someday be called to give an account of the deeds done in the body. But let us not think that death is an evil to be deplored. Indeed it seems tome that death is only the laying aside of the mortal frame in preparation for the higher form of spiritual life where the activity of the soul and mind is engaged in a more exalted sphere. Mr Hagan was an honest, hardworking man, with a determination and ability that placed him among the leading farmers of this part. He leaves behind a wife and seven children to mourn his untimely departure, together with a host of friends and relatives, but may they comfort themselves with the thought that he has passed into a brighter and happier existence in the great beyond.
