Wilbur Ray "Bill" Griswell, age 75, of Graceville, died Friday, Jan 1, 1999 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan Alabama.  He was born Nov 4, 1923 in Geneva County, Alabama and lived the early years of his life in Slocomb, Alabama.  He was a veteran of Word War II having served in the U S Navy.  Mr Griswell resided in Slocomb, Alabama prior to moving to Graceville in 1969.  He was former owner and operator of Griswell Auto and Electric for 30 years prior to his retirement in 1989.

	Funeral service was Jan 5 at Union Baptist Church with the Rev Steve Rodgers officiating.  Burial followed in the church cemetery with Byrd-Williams Funeral Home directing.

Survivors includes his sons: Steve Griswell, Wayne Griswell, Ronald Griswell and Jeffery Griswell, all of Graceville; daughters: Patricia Waldron of Graceville, Janice Register of Graceville, Debbie Stancil of Orlando, Joyce McMillian of Fitzgerald, Georgia; 20 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister: Ruth Carroll of Slocomb, Alabama; along with several nieces and nephews.
